Sports Day Update

It has been confirmed that for sports day you can

- colour your hair in the team colour. This is done at home and spray cans are not to be brought to school.

- War Paint. You are welcome to wear Zinc/face paint in your teams colours. This must be put on at home and zinc etc is not to be brought to school.
 
 
- You are able to wear a top in the colour of your team. It shouldn't have a logo on it or for it to be small. School hats and shorts need to be worn.

Week 10

Welcome to Week 10.

This week is a short week with Friday being a public holiday for Good Friday and the start of the Easter celebration.

That being said, it doesn't mean that things are slowing down.


On Thursday we have Sports Day!
We look forward to great competition and excitement.
Best wishes go to all teams for the day.

Info on attire will be forth coming.
Other things
No spelling this week due to a short week.
Worship and Praise will be on Wednesday and will be the Good Friday service.

Unit of Inquiry


For our next Unit of Inquiry our focus will be "Where we are in space and time." We will be dividing into Year levels for this unit where the Year 6's will have a different topic to the Year 7's.

The Year 7's focus will be:

Central Idea
Significant People have Shaped Our World

Lines of Inquiry
Peoples contributions effect our lives
History records the consequences and impact of significant people
Society recognises heroes

We want to know your thoughts on this so contribute to the wall on Significant People

The Year 6's focus will be:

Central Idea
Exploration leads to discovery and develops new understandings

Lines of Inquiry
Personal and political reasons for exploration
Methods and means of exploration
Exploration has influenced our world today

We want to know your thoughts on this so add to our wall on Exploration

Wednesday Rap


It's Wednesday already!
The term is flying by quickly so lets get up to date with the goings on in the Senior Unit.

Last Week...
Let's look back at last week and a big "Well Done" goes to the students who attended the ALWS Awareness day recently. On Friday they presented an excellent Worship and Praise on the topic of refugees. The theme was "Welcoming the Stranger." The students spoke and performed well. Thanks to all who were involved. This is a great Segway into....

This Friday where Mr Semmlers class will be presenting Worship and Praise. Friday is also our Harmony day celebration and Worship will have a focus on this.  Parents are welcome to come along and join in the worship and Harmony day celebrations. May God bless all the students the best as they prepare for the service.

Tomorrow we begin new Units of Inquiry. For this one we will be breaking into Year 6 and Year 7 classes. More will be posted on the topics.

Reminders
Mathletics - Are you getting your 1000 points each week.
School Disco-On this Friday, can be a great chance to catch up on a Friday night. Time:7.30 - 9.00pm

Week 7 Already!

Welcome to Week 7. It is a short week thanks to the public holiday. Yay! Things are always busy and here is a quick rundown/reminder of things happening in the Senior Unit this week.

Unit of Inquiry
This week will see us begin our final task for our current Unit of Inquiry. Details will be posted tomorrow about what will be expected.

IB Evaluation
This week the there will be some extra faces around the school as the IB evaluation team will be here to see what we are doing. While it shouldn't change anything we do they may be in our class and ask questions at times about what we are doing.

Worship and Praise
Worship and Praise this week will be run by a group of Year 7's who went to an ALWS awareness day. The theme for the service is "Welcoming the Stranger" and you are all invited to come along and be a part of the worship.

As more things come to hand we will post them here but  remember to keep working on your Senior Unit expectations
 - 1000 points on Mathletics
 - Complete all spelling activities
 - Formal uniform on Tuesday and Thursday

Also I think it is Subway lunch this Friday. Yum Yum!
